Chapter 1
Main Points:-
1) Atlas - is a book or collection of Maps.
2) Physical Map - Which shows natural features Example Mountains, Rivers, Oceans, Plains Etc
3) Political Map - Which Shows details of countries, States, cities etc
4) Thematic map- Which show a specific kind of information example forest, rain etc.
5) Three Components of Map - Distance, Direction, Symbols.
6) Directions - Four directions North, South, East, West, or Cardinal Points
7) Distance - Actual distance between two points or places
8) Symbols - A Symbol is used to represent some features Example Po - Post Office
9) Globe - is a sphere on which a map is It is generally made of metal and plastic or cardboard true model of earth
10) Map- Representing a sphere on a flat sheet of paper which is not accurate thats why a globe will better represent the gegoraphy of the earth than a flat map
Latitudes :-
1) are parallel
2) Running from equator to poles.
3) In number-180
4)Imaginary Lines are Sun East and West
